Shooting a fantastic score of one under par, Lorna McClymont won the inaugural “Carnoustie Autumn Test” which took place over the Carnoustie Buddon Course at the weekend.

Featuring the finest of Scottish Women’s Amateur Golfers, the “Carnoustie Autumn Test” was the final counting event in the 2019 Scottish Women’s Order of Merit.

After reaching the turn on level par 34, the Milngavie player arrived home with a solid score of one under par 33. The back nine bolstered with back-to-back birdies at the short 13th and par 4, 14th before a single bogey at the last helped McClymont secure the title by four shots, with a host of players tied on three over par. Leading Under 18 player was awarded to Abby Nisbet from Gullane Golf Club with local player and Carnoustie Ladies Golf Club Champion, Sakuna Ramsay, finishing a credible 5th place, in her first Order of Merit event.

The event was part of Carnoustie Golf Links’ commitment to supporting women’s golf at all levels and PGA Head Professional Keir McNicoll is confident the event can grow into something much bigger in years to come.
